Crackle Nail Polish Tips

For people who are still beginners in this kind of craft, the following  tips should help you get the “crackling” or “cracked” effect you want to achieve.

First step is to make sure that your nails are clean of any previous gel nail polish. Remove it from your nails by using an acetone-free nail polish remover and keep your nails clean and dry. Trim off any excess nails if necessary.

Next step is to choose your desired base coat. Be careful not to skip this step because it will serve as the base of your crackle coat. You can be creative in picking the color of your base coat. It can depend on how you want your nails to look like once they are finished. You can choose neon pink and then top it with a yellow crackle coat. It really depends upon your style. If you are rushing or aren’t really gifted with dexterity, you can make your life easier by opting for gel nail polish instead, as they dry much easily. You can buy them individually, or you can purchase a whole set of gel nail kits.

This is where the excitement comes in. The third step is the most crucial step as this is where all the “crackling” begins. After your base coat has been completely dry, get your polish and just apply them lightly over your nails in one direction. Painting your nails in one direction will achieve the beautiful and organized crackle designs. You will notice that seconds after you have applied it on your nails, the nail polish will begin to crackle. If you desire to make the  designs appear smaller, you will have to paint lightly your nails. The bigger the crackles you want, the heavier the coat should be. Lastly, when the nail polish dries off completely, remember to apply your final transparent coating.
